Man Found Dumping Body Parts In River

Compiled From Wire Services

A man in bloodstained clothing was caught dumping body parts in a river, police said Monday.

Vladimir Zelenin, his hand bandaged, pleaded innocent Monday to conspiracy to commit murder. Bail was set at $1 million.

Zelenin, 40, was arrested Sunday by Officer Richard Freeman, who said he saw the suspect returning from the Passaic River wearing a bloodstained plastic glove on his right hand and blood on his pants.

After the arrest, police confiscated 10 garbage bags from Zelenin’s car. Eight of the bags contained body parts, Prosecutor Charles Buckley said.
