Hawks Re-Sign Blades

Brian Blades, charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a cousin, has reached agreement on a three-year contract with the Seahawks, the team said Wednesday.

Terms were not announced.

Blades, 30, is scheduled to go on trial April 29.

Report condemns Kingdome

HOK Sports Facilities Group identified $35 million in safety and mechanical problems at the Kingdome in a report to King County.

And while relevant inspection agencies say the Kingdome is legal, King County Executive Gary Locke decided this week to ask the Metropolitan King County Council for a $1 million emergency appropriation to fix some of the defects.

Rams sign Walsh

The St. Louis Rams signed Steve Walsh, ending the search for a replacement for quarterback Chris Miller, who cut short his career after a series of concussions.

Walsh is expected to compete with Mark Rypien for the top job.

ABC takes Pro Bowl

ABC will carry the Pro Bowl game from Honolulu beginning at 5 p.m. PST next Feb. 2.

From 1988 through last January, the Pro Bowl was on ESPN cable.
