Shalala Pushes For More Immunization

Compiled From Wire Services

Immunization against childhood diseases has grown since 1992 from 55 percent to 75 percent of all children, Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala said Wednesday. That’s still not good enough, she said.

“There are still over one million preschoolers in this country who don’t have all their shots,” Shalala told participants at the annual immunization conference of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We cannot rest until they do.”
