Parcel Bomb Kills Woman, Wounds 3

Compiled From Wire Services

A woman whose ex-husband had threatened to blow her up was killed Friday by a package bomb that also injured three children, including an 11-year-old neighbor who carried the parcel in from the front step.

Police said they had warned the woman not to open unexpected packages after a pipe bomb was found on the hood of her car last month.

The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, had been involved in a yearlong dispute with her ex-husband, according to police records. During that time, she tried to get a restraining order against him and he threatened to blow her up, police said.

The ex-husband has not been charged. He visited his children at the hospital Friday afternoon, police said.
