Seahawks, County Agree

Compiled From Wire Services

Lawyers for the Seahawks owner Ken Behring and King County have agreed to keep in effect a court order that bars moving the franchise pending trial on Behring’s attempt to relocate to the Los Angeles area.

The agreement maintains the conditions imposed Feb. 2, when Behring announced his plan to take the club south. One condition was added - any party that buys the team must also accept the Kingdome lease, which runs through 2005.

Behring’s lawyers said they agreed to extend the King County Superior Court order rather than fight it to save time while preparing for trial May 28.

Meanwhile, Behring is barred from selling to an out-of-state buyer or from committing the Seahawks to play home games anywhere other than the Kingdome.

Glyn Milburn, the Denver Broncos’ speedy return specialist, was traded to Detroit in exchange for second- and seventh-round selections in next week’s NFL player draft.

Denver coach Mike Shanahan said the trade gives Denver a better position in the draft. “We do have a better chance to move up,” he said.

Milburn, selected to the Pro Bowl, is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Lions worth about $3 million. He was to make $330,000 with Denver this season.
