Divers Pull Body Of Man From

Lake Pend Oreille Divers pulled a man’s body from Lake Pend Oreille Saturday night after it was found in a boat slip on the lake’s south end.

Members of the Kootenai County dive team were called to the Bayview community about 5 p.m. after recreational divers discovered the body.

Berry Siebert was pulled from about 30 feet of water near the boat he lived on in Scenic Bay, said Kootenai County sheriff’s Lt. Nile Shirley.

Siebert’s death appears to be accidental, Shirley said, but an autopsy is planned Monday to officially rule out foul play.
