Forum To Discuss Parking Problem

From Staff And Wire Reports

The city will host a public forum tonight to discuss the lack of downtown parking. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

A parking task force survey showed the downtown has more than 800 workers and only 300 paid parking spaces. Workers end up parking on the street in front of businesses, tying up space needed for customers and tourists.

The task force has suggested installing parking meters downtown and reducing monthly parking rates at the sole city-owned parking lot. , DataTimes
