Skating, Bicycles Banned On Sidewalks

From Staff And Wire Reports

Skateboards, in-line skates and bicycles are prohibited on the sidewalks of Sherman Avenue and the streets that cross it between First and Sixth in Coeur d’Alene.

City officials are issuing the reminder as the weather warms, drawing wheeling recreation outdoors. The restrictions are necessary for the safety of pedestrians and riders, they say.

In addition to the Sherman Avenue restrictions, skateboarders and in-line skates are not allowed in the city park bandshell, at the Veteran’s Memorial or in Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Bicycles are not allowed on any part of Tubbs Hill that is owned by the city.

All of these wheeled sports are welcome on the Centennial Trail. In addition, skateboarders can use the skateboard park near Memorial Field. , DataTimes
