‘My Guys’ Pulled After Two Shows

The Washington Post

They’re getting pretty fast on the draw at CBS Entertainment, which Monday canceled the sitcom “My Guys” after just two appearances and put “Good Company” on hiatus after just four outings.

Tonight, a repeat of “The Nanny” will replace “My Guys” at 8 and next Monday, a repeat of “Cybill” will take the place of “Good Company” at 9:30. Both were short-run series tryouts.

“My Guys” expired with four shows still to go and had averaged an unprepossessing 5.4/9, which put it about 130th among 154 series ranked so far this season. “Good Company” averaged a 9.0/14 in its first three outings and ranked 67th, tied with “Murder, She Wrote,” which is pretty good company at that.

Roseanne’s ‘SNS’ loses to ‘SNL’

Roseanne began a six-week run of her “Saturday Night Special” on Fox Saturday night with a 5.2 overnight rating and a 12 share between 11 and midnight. Fox was quick to point out that Rosie exceeded “Mad TV’s” 4.8/10 in that time slot.

That same evening, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” with former GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes as host, averaged a 6.4/17, which is about average for the show.

However, Rosie started off with a 5.8/12 in the first half-hour and then slid to a 4.7/11 when “SNL” arrived.
