Jury Doesn’t Get Unabomber Evidence

Compiled From Wire Services

A federal grand jury convened Wednesday, but despite expectations apparently did not hear evidence concerning Unabomber suspect Theodore Kaczynski.

The anonymous 23-member panel was spirited to and from the courthouse in unmarked vans amid a flurry of speculation that it would indict the former University of California, Berkeley, math professor on lesser charges of possessing explosives as prosecutors pieced together a more complex case.

Several sealed indictments were handed down before the panel quit shortly before 4 p.m., but none appeared related to Kaczynski.
