Salmon Recovery Topic Of TV Program Tonight

Salmon recovery is the topic of the Idaho Public Television show “Dialogue” airing tonight at 7:30.

The show will feature two men who have dedicated their time and money to the cause of salmon recovery, although each has differing opinions on how to do it.

Reed Burkholder, a Boise piano teacher, advocates breaching the four lower dams on the Snake River to allow fish unimpeded passage downstream.

Dick Woodworth, former director of the Idaho Fish and Game Department, promotes using a bypass tunnel to shoot fish around the dams and out to sea.

The state’s fisheries chief, Steve Huffaker, also will appear on the program.
