Taking A Bite Out Of Crimefighter

A 15-year-old girl who claimed to be a vampire tried to bite a police officer Wednesday night.

The incident took place at 11 p.m. at Crosswalk, a center for homeless and high-risk teenagers at 525 W. Second, police spokesman Dick Cottam said.

The girl reportedly raised a ruckus when Crosswalk staff refused to admit her to the center because she had been drinking, Cottam said.

When police arrived, the girl hit one officer and tried to bite another.

She was arrested and booked into the juvenile detention centers on two counts of third-degree assault and one count of being a minor in possession of alcohol.
