Josie Naccarato Receives $23,000 Scholarship

Josie Naccarato, a senior at West Valley High School, has been awarded a $23,000 scholarship to attend Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. She competed against 187 students.

Naccarato is the daughter of Albert and Vikkie Naccarato, Spokane.

Samantha Schmehl will represent Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore., at the National Parliamentary Debate Association’s tournament at Rice University in Houston. She competes in parliamentary debate and extemporaneous and impromptu speaking.

Schmehl is the daughter of Robert and Laurie Schmehl, Colbert.

Several Inland Northwest students attending Northwest Nazarene College, Nampa, Idaho, were named to the Dean’s List for the second term:

Jade C. Ashley, Ryan R. Fievez, Casey L. Lund, Shayna E. Lund, Erika L. McCray, Eric S. Shafer, Nathan A. Shafer, Shannon R. Smith and Michelle D. Stephens, all of Spokane; Sara K. Stark, Veradale; and Janelle L. Tripp, and Kari A. Leaf, both of Elk.

Annie Gregory and Timothy Heeter, students from Spokane, were named to the Dean’s List at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, for the fall quarter.

Gregory, who earned high honors, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Gregory. Heeter, earning honors, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Heeter.

Bruce Schmitt qualified to attend a national sales and educational conference sponsored by Aid Association for Lutherans, based on outstanding sales and service in 1995.

Since joining AAL in 1987, Schmitt has qualified for a national conference nine times. He is an associate of Spokane’s Scott Schuldt Agency.
