Contest Winner Gets $10,000 Shopping Spree

How long does it take to spend $10,000 at the nation’s largest mall?

It took Greg Lengsfeld about 17 minutes.

The St. Paul, Minn., postal worker led a group of photographers and reporters on a mad dash through the Mall of America, buying up tools, jewelry, a computer, mountain bikes and a snowblower Friday. He had won a mall contest and only had to point at the goods to call them his.

“This was the most exciting day of my life - after my wedding,” said Lengsfeld, 36.

Lengsfeld’s name was drawn April 20 from a pool of trivia-quiz winners. He was given a 30-minute time limit for his shopping spree.
