Fowlkes Leaves Cal

California sophomore forward Tremaine Fowlkes has been released from his basketball scholarship, the school announced.

Cal’s athletic department earlier this month denied Fowlkes’ request to be released from his scholarship. He appealed the ruling.

The ad hoc committee considering Fowlkes’ appeal granted his release.
