Imprisoned Man Admits Four Murders

A jailed sex offender has admitted killing three girls and a woman.

Roberto Valent Arguelles, 34, said he wanted to be sentenced to death for the murders he described Friday during a seven-hour confession, Department of Corrections Investigator Jenny Glover said Monday.

Arguelles is currently serving consecutive nine-year-to-life sentences for molesting a brother and sister, ages 11 and 8, at a school in December 1992. He was arrested three days later while stalking a girl outside a high school.

Police say Arguelles kidnapped and killed the three girls and the woman in 1992, while on parole after serving 11 years for attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault for raping two teenage girls in three days.
