Nespelem Voters To Select Interim Tribal Council Member

Voters in the Nespelem District of the Colville Indian Reservation will select a replacement Saturday for tribal Councilwoman Gloria Marchand-Picard.

Marchand-Picard, 48, died July 6 after an extended illness.

Candidates for her position are Carleen M. Anderson, Cindy Boyd, Gene H. Joseph, JoAnne Leith and John St. Pierre.

The winner will be sworn in Aug. 8, when absentee ballots will be counted.
