Yakima Child Rapist Sentenced

A Yakima man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping and molesting three young girls several times over a nine-month period.

Yakima County Superior Court Judge Stephen Brown also ordered Darrell Lee Shafer, 37, on Tuesday to have no contact with children for the rest of his life.

Shafer has appealed his May convictions on six counts of first-degree child rape, two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of attempted child molestation.
