Travis Rivers

Three classics concerts are scheduled for The Festival at Sandpoint this week.

The Spokane Symphony will be joined Saturday night at 7:30 at Memorial Field by pianists Alexander Toradze and Vakhtang Kodanashvili and violinist Kelly Farris in works by Tchaikovsky, DeFalla and Paine. Gunther Schuller will conduct.

Toradze has performed with the orchestra several times since his debut here in 1978.

Kodanashvili is a young pianist at the beginning of a concert career and a protege of Toradze.

Farris, first violinist of the Spokane String Quartet, has been concertmaster of the Spokane Symphony since 1969.

Also scheduled at Sandpoint are two chamber music performances on Sunday and Thursday.
