Mr. And Mrs. Whittekiend Elk, Wash.

Forest and Jeannette S. Whittekiend, Elk, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at 2 p.m., Saturday.

Hosts for the event will be their children and spouses: Virgil Whittekiend, Shelton, Wash.; Cheryl and Michael Arthur, Chewelah; Alvan Whittekiend, Fayetteville, N.C.; and Les and Marie Whittekiend, Elk.

The couple were married Aug. 16, 1946, in Elko, Nev. They have seven grandchildren.
