Stockton Earns Senior Pga Win

Dave Stockton rallied from four strokes back and survived a bogey on the final hole to win the Senior PGA Tour’s First of America Classic in Ada, Mich.

Stockton shot a 3-under-par 69 to finish the 54-hole event at 10-under 206. Bob Murphy was the runner-up at 207. Two strokes behind the leader were Tom Wargo and 1995 champion Jimmy Powell.

Emilee Klein shot a 7-under-par 65 to overtake Karrie Webb and capture the LPGA Ping Welch’s Championship in Canton, Mass., for her first victory on the LPGA tour.

Klein, a 22-year-old former NCAA champion from Arizona State, finished at 15-under 273 and won by two strokes. Webb, who shot 69, was the runner-up for the second straight week following her showing at the du Maurier Classic in Edmonton, Alberta.

Rathdrum’s Tracy Hanson, in contention after two rounds, carded a 72 and finished at 287.
