Boyd Wins Spot On Colville Tribe Panel

Cindy Boyd has been elected to a vacant Nespelem District position on the 14-member Colville Confederated Tribes Business Council.

When absentee ballots were counted last week, Boyd edged former councilman Gene H. Joseph by nine votes. The results: Boyd, 210; Joseph, 201; Joanne C. Leith, 138; Carleen M. Anderson, 125; and John S. St. Pierre, 49.

Boyd will fill the two-year unexpired term of Gloria Marchand-Picard, who died July 6.
