Burnside Gets Nasa Fellowship

Tim Burnside, a teacher with the Lakeland School District No. 272, recently received a NASA fellowship to attend Space Discovery, a five-day graduate course for secondary educators sponsored by the Air Force Academy and the U.S. Space Foundation.

Burnside learned how to use space and aviation themes to enhance academic learning in the classroom.

Letty Ann Michaels, Coeur d’Alene, recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.

The following four University of Idaho administrators were recently selected as finalists for the position of associate provost in academic affairs: Alton G. Campbell, associate dean for academics in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Range Sciences; Leonard R. Johnson, professor of forest products at the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Range Sciences; Linda J. Morris, professor of business at the College of Business and Economics; and Dene K. Thomas, associate dean of College of Letters and Science.

Linda Cathey, R.N., O.C.N., a staff nurse at North Idaho Cancer Center, received an Oncology Nursing Foundation/Pro Ed Communications Congress Scholarship.

Cathey, chosen based on her professionalism in creatively responding to challenges in her practice, used the scholarship to attend the Oncology Nursing Society’s 21st Annual Congress held in Philadelphia in May. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and presidentelect of the Inland Northwest Chapter.
