Idaho Man Killed In Pickup Accident

An Idaho man was killed Tuesday when he lost control of his pickup truck on U.S. Highway 2, about 15 miles south of Newport, Wash.

Lansford J. Miles, 39, of Priest River was southbound about 6 p.m. when he hit the median, bounced off and veered into a rocky embankment, the Washington State Patrol said.

The pickup then returned to the highway and rolled.

Miles, who was ejected, was pronounced dead at the scene, the state patrol said.
