Man Beats Whistling Elder At Nursing Home

Compiled From Wire Services

An 87-year-old man was severely beaten with a shoe by a fellow nursing-home resident who was annoyed by his whistling.

John A. Dolchy was hospitalized in fair condition.

Witnesses said the 80-year-old man in the room next to Dolchy’s had threatened Dolchy about his whistling. The man, who was not identified, finally put his hand in a slipper-type shoe and beat Dolchy in the head and shoulders with a slapping motion.

No immediate arrests were made.
