Compiled From Wire Services

Scotland Yard is investigating the apparent theft of an 18th-century pearl bracelet from a display cabinet at Buckingham Palace.

The theft was discovered on July 26 when a staff member noticed that the lock had been forced open, police said.

The bracelet, which has a miniature portrait of King George III, was worth at least $30,000, according to Buckingham Palace.
