Leader Of Turkey Defends Shooting
Turkey’s prime minister defended the actions of Turkish troops who shot and killed a Greek Cypriot demonstrator on the divided Mediterranean island.
Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan said Saturday that Turkish soldiers were only carrying out their duties.
“Of course we can’t remain indifferent if (Greek Cypriots) tried to trespass the border in a terrorist way,” said Erbakan, who left Sunday for Indonesia after a three-day visit to Malaysia.
