Boy In Zoo Fall Goes Home

Compiled From Wire Services

The 3-year-old boy who fell into a primate exhibit and was carried to safety by a motherly gorilla was released from the hospital Tuesday.

The boy was initially listed in critical condition, but now is expected to recover fully from his minor head injuries, broken bones in one hand and a number of scrapes and cuts, Loyola Medical Center officials said.

Binti Jua, an 8-year-old, 150-pound Western Lowland gorilla, picked up the boy when he fell 18 feet onto concrete and was knocked unconscious Friday at the Brookfield Zoo.
