17-Year-Old Girl Wanted For Murder

Secret Witness is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of a 17-year-old Spokane girl wanted for murder.

Emily Rose Welk is a suspect in the Aug. 12 killing of Richard Perez. He was found dying from a bullet wound on a sidewalk outside an apartment on East First.

A warrant was issued for Welk, who will be tried as an adult. Welk, who changes her appearance by using makeup and different hairstyles, has a long history with police and should be considered dangerous.

She is white, 5-feet-3 inches tall, 115 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to her arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Secret Witness at 327-5111.

Secret Witness is a citizen organization not affiliated with law enforcement. Callers are urged to use a code name or number for future contact about a reward.

updated  With the thunderous crack of a cannon and the sulfurous pop of a musket, the Battle of Gettysburg was on. The Union soldiers, clad in various shades of blue, moved slowly up the hill to the tune of artillery fire drowning out a lonely trio of musicians playing the songs of war. Beneath them and occupying a small meadow, Confederate infantry men and women fired in unison to their superior’s command, each snap bringing a flurry of gun powder dancing in the air.
