Thief Has Hold On Wrestling Ring

Compiled From Wire Services

Missing: one ring, weighing about 2,200 pounds. It’s a mobile wrestling ring that has been trucked from town to town for 50 years.

“It’s awfully hard to hide something like this,” said Clark Peterson, a wrestling announcer. But the professional wrestling ring was last seen Aug. 12 strapped to its flatbed trailer in a parking lot.

It was gone the following day, and at one point was spotted hitched to a car outside a home improvement store. Since then - nothing.

The ring has been set up all over Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas.

Wrestling matches on its canvas were held mostly to raise money for homeless shelters, schools and charities.
