Adjustment Helps Hornaday

Compiled From Wire Services

After fixing a handling problem before the race, Ron Hornaday Jr. won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Parts America 150 race at Watkins Glen International.

Hornaday, who’d won the pole position at three previous series road races, finished 10th in Saturday’s time trials. Mystified, he called truck owner and six-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt, who helped straighten out the problem.

At Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, former world champion Michael Schumacher held off Jacques Villeneuve to win the Belgian Grand Prix for the second straight year.

Kevin Cywinski became the first rookie in American Speed Association history to win consecutive events by edging Tony Raines by 0.213 seconds in the Badgerland 150 at West Allkis, Wis.
