9 Chinese Executed For Stealing From Trains

A railway court in the northern city of Zhengzhou has executed nine men for stealing motorcycles and other cargo from trains, an official newspaper reported Monday.

The nine were among 19 people convicted recently by the Zhengzhou Rail Transport Intermediate Court of preying on freight trains, said the overseas edition of the People’s Daily.

The nine men were shot shortly after sentencing.

The others received suspended death sentences, life imprisonment or other jail terms, the newspaper said, providing no further details.
