Lev Vlasenko, a renowned Russian pianist and longtime professor at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, has died in Australia at age 67, a colleague said Monday.

Tatyana Ivanova, an administrator at the Moscow Conservatory, said Vlasenko died Friday. The cause of death was not known.

He became a music professor at the Brisbane Conservatory several months ago, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.
