Spokane County Commissioners

Monday, 3 p.m., 1997 budget hearing Public Works hearing room, 1026 W. Broadway. Commissioners will take comments on the proposed $88 million budget.

Spokane City Council

Monday, 3:30 p.m. briefing, lower-level conference room 6 p.m. regular meeting City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The council plans to vote on a $112 million spending plan proposed for 1997.

Spokane County Commissioners

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., commission briefing, county courthouse, 1116 W. Broadway.

2 p.m., commissioners’ board meeting, Public Works hearing room, 1026 W. Broadway.

5 p.m. regular meeting, Public Works hearing room, 1026 W. Broadway.

Among other things, commissioners will hold a hearing on a proposed rate hike for sewer customers. Monthly fees would increase $2 in 1997, $1 in 1998 and $1 in 1999. The money would go into an account to help pay for improvements to the regional sewage treatment plant.

Spokane County Planning Commission

Wednesday, 6 p.m., city council chambers City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The commission will continue a hearing on a proposal to prohibit lots smaller than 40 acres in some farming areas and forests.

Spokane County Growth Management Steering Committee

Friday, 9:30 a.m. meeting, second-floor board room Spokane Transit Authority, 1230 W. Boone Ave.
