Pair Killed When Car Cut In Half By Truck After Sliding On Highway

Two people were killed Monday when their car slid on snow and ice into a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 195 south of Rosalia.

Leonard Roberts, 65, and Shirley Roberts, 61, both of Moscow, Idaho, died in the collision, the Washington State Patrol said.

They were headed south in a 1989 Nissan sedan at 3:40 p.m., when their car slid into the oncoming tractor-trailer rig.

The truck driven by Kevin Shaw, 39, of Deer Park split the car in two. Shaw suffered only minor injuries.
