Kec Will Absorb Costs From Ice Storm

From Staff Reports

Kootenai Electric Cooperative Inc. will absorb $1 million in costs from the ice storm without raising rates, General Manager Bob Crump said Friday.

In fact, he said, the Hayden Lake-based cooperative will follow through on plans to reduce rates by $1.39 million in 1997.

Kootenai revenues were $13.8 million in 1995.

Spokeswoman Catherine Parochetti said the cooperative has only scattered outages left to repair from the Nov. 19 storm, which knocked out 4,000 members.

She asked cooperative members still without power to call 1-208-765-1200. , DataTimes
