It’ll Cost 50 Tails To Shake Your Own

It will take at least 50 rat tails to get into the town dance, officials in Cabtuan, in one of the country’s biggest rice-growing regions, have decided as a vermin-control measure.

Rats have destroyed 58,000 acres of rice, and town officials were inspired by the “Miss Rat” contest earlier this year in nearby Monpon, which did much to end that town’s problem. Contestants were judged not only for their beauty but also for the number of rats they and their sponsors could kill.
