Diners Club Golf Finals Set

Duffy Waldorf parred the second playoff hole and he and partner Tom Lehman advanced to the final round of the Diners Club matches.

Waldorf birdied the 18th hole to force a playoff against Mark Brooks and Andrew McGee, then birdied the first extra hole to put his team into a playoff against the teams of Steve Jones-Rick Fehr and Justin Leonard-Mike Hulbert to determine which would face Scott Hoch and Kenny Perry in today’s final. Hoch and Perry defeated Steve Stricker and former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett 1-up to move to 3-0 in the other bracket.

The LPGA’s Kelly Robbins and Tammie Green completed a sweep of their lower bracket with a 4 and 2 victory over Emilee Klein and Kris Tschetter. Robbins and Green advance to today’s title match against Dottie Pepper and Juli Inkster. Inkster sank an 8-foot putt on the first playoff hole to defeat Karrie Webb and Michelle McGann in the lower bracket.

In the Seniors division, Jim Colbert and Bob Murphy defeated Jimmy Powell and Larry Mowry 3 and 2 to move into the championship match. Jay Sigel and Vicente Fernandez defeated Hale Irwin and Dave Stockton 4 and 3.
