Inmate’s Escape Method To Dye For

Compiled From Wire Services

A little all-over graffiti apparently gave a convict enough camouflage so he could just walk away from prison.

Prison officials believe Steven Russell colored his white prison clothes with the ink from a green Magic Marker to make them look like hospital scrubs.

Russell then posed as a prison employee and walked away from the state prison on Friday, prison spokesman David Nunnelee said.

Russell had started serving a 45-year prison term in September for theft, aggravated theft and - yes - escape.

He had gotten himself out of the Harris County Jail in July by calling the district clerk’s office, representing himself as a judge and telling the clerk to lower his bail, Nunnelee said.
