Sen. Craig Names Ware Chief Of Staff

From Staff And Wire Reports

Michael O. Ware, who for 16 years headed Conoco Oil’s Washington, D.C., office, is new chief of staff for Idaho Sen. Larry Craig.

Ware succeeds Greg Casey, who in September was appointed Senate sergeant at arms by Majority Leader Sen. Trent Lott. Ware will head Craig’s Washington, D.C., operations.

Craig said Ware has a firm grasp of western issues that will help shape a legislative agenda beneficial to Idaho.

Ware most recently has been working for the Republican National Committee, where he was director of strategic planning and congressional affairs.

Before that he headed Conoco’s Washington operations and was director of governmental affairs for the National Association of Manufacturers.

Ware also has served as director of House liaison for the Federal Energy Administration.
