Christmas Eve Bomb Kills Three At Church

Compiled From Wire Services

A bomb exploded Tuesday at a Christmas Eve service, killing three people and sending bloody survivors fleeing the church, police said. Six people were badly wounded, and two of them were in critical condition, police said.

Witnesses told police that a masked woman burst into the service in the western Frankfurt suburb of Sindlingen. Police were uncertain whether the explosives were strapped to her body or planted elsewhere.

One of the bodies was blown to pieces, and police believed it was that of the suspected bomber. The other two dead were also women.
