Filipino Leader Has Surgery On Artery
President Fidel Ramos checked out of the hospital Thursday following surgery to remove a life-threatening block in an artery in his neck.
The Philippine leader underwent a 75-minute operation Monday to remove a cholesterol build-up in an artery that carries blood to the brain.
His doctor, Raul Fores, advised the president to limit his activities until he has fully recovered.
“He is 68 years old, so he has to slow down,” Fores said.
