The driver of a stolen auto fleeing police broadsided another car, killing a woman who was three months pregnant and her 16-year-old sister as well as a teenager in the stolen car.
Lizett Quinonez, 22, and her sister Claudia, who was visiting from Guadalajara, Mexico, were returning home early Tuesday from a fast-food restaurant when their car was hit.
The driver of the stolen car, Oscar Rodriguez, 18, sped away after an officer stopped him for a traffic violation and approached on foot, police said. The fugitives hit speeds of 80 mph, threw a loaded handgun from the car and ran a red light before hitting the Quinonez car.
Rodriguez was hospitalized with serious injuries.
