Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: I’m an avid reader of your column and use many of your hints every day!

I know many readers probably have the same pet peeve as I do: rebates or coupon offers that require both a UPC code and a cash-register receipt. Many times, by the time I read all requirements of an offer, I still have the packaging with the UPC code, but the cash-register receipt is long gone. UPC codes should be proof enough of a purchase.
