Would You Fly 50,000 Miles For This Deal?

USAir Inc. said Thursday that it will begin selling frequent flier miles to businesses.

The Arlington-based company, which has 16 million people in its frequent flier program, will sell the miles for 2 cents each, with a minimum purchase of $1,000 for 50,000 miles.

“VIP Miles,” as the product will be known, will be available today. The certificates will come packaged in booklets of 10. Each booklet will be good for a year.

USAir and USAir Express serve more than 200 destinations worldwide, including 39 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Germany and France.
