Man Fatally Stabbed In Seattle

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Juanita man was found stabbed to death on a street here early Sunday, police said.

A woman acquaintance of the man initially was reported as missing, but police spokesman Sean O’Donnell said late Sunday that she had called authorities.

The victim was identified by O’Donnell as Rigel Jones, 24.

He and the woman, Jessica R. Green, 24, from Texas, were with friends Friday night enjoying the night life in the Pioneer Square district, O’Donnell said.

He said when they parted, the friends went one way and the couple went another.

Jones’ body was found shortly before 4:30 a.m. outside his pickup truck. He had been stabbed to death.

O’Donnell said Green contacted authorities Sunday night and said she had become separated from Jones Friday night in Pioneer Square and had returned alone to a Kirkland hotel.

He said she hadn’t known of Jones’ fate and had called authorities Sunday to inquire whether he was listed as a missing person.
