Caires Vigil Changed

Tonight’s vigil service for Leona “Lee” Caires has been changed to St. Pius Catholic Church.

Caires, 49, was shot and killed in Moses Lake by a 14-year-old boy in her math classroom at Frontier Junior High.

The vigil service originally was scheduled to be held at Yates Funeral Home but was changed because of the large number of people expected to attend. The vigil begins at 7 p.m.

The funeral mass for Caires is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Friends and family have established a Leona Caires Memorial Scholarship fund at the Bank of America, Silver Lake Mall Branch, 357 E. Canfield Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. , DataTimes
