Champ Scores Knockout
Lonnie Bradley of New York retained his WBO middleweight title on Tuesday night, knocking out Randy Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., at 2:03 of the second round.
Bradley, who improved to 23-0 with 19 knockouts, finished Smith with a right uppercut that dropped the challenger on his face. Referee Sandy Viruet didn’t bother counting, waving his arms to show the scheduled 12-rounder was over.
It was the second defense of the title which Bradley won on May 19, 1995, when he stopped previously unbeaten David Mendez in the 12th round.
