Charger Tackle Arrested

Compiled From Wire Services

San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Shawn Lee was arrested outside a Manhattan nightclub after injuring a man he shoved into a wall during a dispute.

The 300-pound Lee was unhurt. Vadin Granin, the 24-year-old man he pushed, needed 31 stitches to close a gash on his head.

Lee, 29, of Raleigh, N.C., was charged with assault and resisting arrest.

Lindy Infante is the Colts’ first choice for head coach and will probably be named to the position this week, an Indianapolis television station reported.

“Lindy is the only guy that I’ve talked to and the only guy that I intend to talk to at this time,” Colts’ director of football operations Bill Tobin told WTHR-TV.

Jim Fassel, quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders last season, has been hired as the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator.

Vic Rapp, a scout with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, has also been hired as a Cardinals assistant coach. His specific assignment has yet not been determined.
