Refrigerator, the richest quarter horse in racing history, is retiring from competition after six years of racing. Refrigerator earned year-end championships annually between 1990-94, including the overall world title in 1992-93. The 8-year-old gelding won 10 Grade I races in his career, including the prestigious All American Futurity and three straight Champion of Champions stakes.

At Stanford, Calif., Kate Starbird scored 20 points and Olympia Scott added nine straight to ignite a decisive second-half scoring run to lead No. 4 Stanford to an 86-62 victory over 15th-ranked Oregon State.
